FROM OUR FOUNDER — ALEXANDRA GREEN
I founded ZÓN to honor the woman who raised me and the traditions that shaped our family.
Growing up Dominican, food was always about more than what was on the plate. It was family, culture, memory, gathering, and love.
As a mother, nurse, and leader, I've also become increasingly intentional about the ingredients I bring into my own home. I wanted something that made cooking easier without sacrificing the real ingredients and flavors I grew up with.
That's what ZÓN represents.
Our Story
ZÓN began with Mama’s family recipe, but its story goes back generations.
Our roots are in the Dominican Republic, where food was grown from the land, meals were prepared with fresh ingredients, and recipes weren't simply written down — they were passed from one generation to the next.
The recipe at the heart of ZÓN came from our mother, whose cooking was shaped by those traditions.
What began in her kitchen has grown into something bigger: a way to preserve a piece of our family's story while creating a product that fits the way families cook today.
ZÓN takes the vegetables, herbs, and flavors that have been part of our family's cooking for generations and brings them together in one convenient, all-purpose seasoning.
You don't have to be Dominican to cook with ZÓN.
